Be mindful of your tongue

Posted on March 26, 2025 by Pastor Floyd James

Thought for the day
Wednesday 3/26/25

Grateful to the Lord for the blessing of life that He has given unto each of us on this wonderful wishful Wednesday morning. The Bible emphasizes the power of the tongue for both good and evil. It has often been said “Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me.” As many of us know, that adage is certainly untrue. Words can harm, hurt and destroy. Many lives have been ruined by the words spoken. Be mindful of what you say to others, because statements made by the tongue cannot be retrieved or retracted. “Likewise, the tongue is a small part of the body, but it makes great boasts. Consider what a great forest is set on fire by a small spark. The tongue also is a fire, a world of evil among the parts of the body. It corrupts the whole body, sets the whole course of one’s life on fire, and is itself set on fire by hell.” James 3:5-6 NIV. Therefore choose your words wisely when conversing with others. Be blessed as you practice the principles.
